Take Five

Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 10, 2026 · takefive.care

The short version: your family's care data is not a product. It is stored so the service can work, it is never sold, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Take Five is a family care coordination platform built to help families support aging parents at home. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've written it to be read, not filed away.

What we collect

Take Five collects information that members of your care circle share in the course of using the service — through group chats, text messages, and any other connected channels.

Messages and updates. Text messages sent to or from the Take Five bot, including caregiver check-ins, family updates, and any replies to digests. These are stored so the AI can read, summarize, and answer questions about them.
Care information. Details about medications, appointments, health patterns, mood, and daily activities — extracted from messages to build the care log and weekly digest.
Contact information. Phone numbers and names of care circle members, collected at setup so we know who belongs to which circle.
Usage data. Basic information about how the service is used, such as message volume and feature interactions, used to improve the product.

We do not collect payment information directly — if and when billing is introduced, it will be handled by a third-party payment processor under their own privacy terms.

How we use it

To run the service. Messages are read and processed by AI to generate weekly digests, maintain the care log, surface alerts, and answer questions from care circle members.
To improve the product. We review how the service is working — what's useful, what's missing, what's unclear — so we can make it better. The founder may read message data for this purpose during the pilot phase.
To contact you. We may send service-related messages — status updates, verification codes, or responses to your requests. We will not send marketing messages without your explicit consent.

We do not use your family's data to train general AI models, sell to third parties, or serve advertising. Ever.

Who can see your data

Care circle data is visible only to members of that care circle and to Take Five staff operating the service. During the current pilot phase, the founder (Eric Landry) may access message data directly in order to monitor service quality and fix issues.

We do not share your data with any third party except the infrastructure providers that make the service run — cloud hosting, database storage, and AI inference. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

SMS messaging

If you receive SMS messages from Take Five, it is because you or a family member opted you into a care circle and you consented to receive messages. You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan.

We do not share your phone number or any information collected via SMS with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your choices

Access. You can ask us what information we have about your care circle at any time.
Correction. If something is wrong — a name, a number, a piece of care information — just ask and we'll fix it.
Deletion. You can ask us to delete all data associated with your care circle. We will do so promptly and completely. No questions, no friction.
Opt out of SMS. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from SMS notifications at any time.

Data retention

We retain care circle data for as long as your family is actively using the service. If your account is inactive for 12 months, we will contact you before taking any action. If you request deletion, we remove your data within 30 days.

Security

Your family's care information deserves to be protected. We store data on encrypted infrastructure, limit access to what's necessary to operate the service, and take reasonable precautions against unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise — but protecting your data is something we take seriously.

Children

Take Five is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have done so inadvertently, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify active care circle members before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.

If you have any questions about this policy, or want to exercise any of your data rights, just reach out. We're a small team and we actually respond.
