Take Five

Terms of Service

Effective date: July 8, 2026 · takefive.care

These Terms govern your use of Take Five. By texting our number, joining a care circle, or using our web app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

What Take Five is

Take Five helps families coordinate care for aging or dependent loved ones. Family members and caregivers join a "care circle," send updates by text message or group chat, and Take Five organizes those updates into a shared log and periodic summary for the family.

Who can use it

You must be added to a care circle by a family administrator to use Take Five, and you must be 18 or older to consent to receive SMS messages from us. Take Five is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

SMS program terms

If you provide your mobile number and opt in through our SMS consent form, you may receive text messages from Take Five Care. Here's exactly what that involves:

What you'll receive. A one-time welcome message when you're enrolled, and a brief automated confirmation each time you send us a care update. We do not send marketing messages.
Message frequency. Frequency is low and depends on how often you check in — there is no recurring schedule.
Cost. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan.
Opting out. Reply STOP to any message at any time to unsubscribe. You'll get one final confirmation message. Reply START to re-subscribe.
Help. Reply HELP to any message, or visit takefive.care, for support.
Carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services, and mobile opt-in data is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Not a medical service

Take Five is a coordination and communication tool. It is not a medical device, medical advice, or a substitute for professional medical care, and it is not monitored for emergencies. If you or someone you're caring for is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately — do not rely on Take Five.

Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information, to use Take Five only for its intended purpose of family care coordination, and not to use the service to harass, threaten, or send unlawful content to other care circle members.

Data and privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it. It's part of these Terms.

Service availability

Take Five is currently offered as part of an active pilot program. We do our best to keep the service reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and features may change as the product evolves.

Disclaimer of warranties

Take Five is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Take Five and its founder are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these Terms

If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify active care circle members before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
